Kansas City Chiefs Game
I will be traveling to Kansas City (1st time) to see the Colts vs. Kansas City game on 9/3. Could you recommend accomodations (heard about Quaterage Motel)but wanted to know of others near the stadium or if it is good to stay around the stadium? Where is a good place to park for the game? Thanks. You can e-mail to [email protected]

There is no 'good' lodging around the stadium, and what's there is probably already booked.
The best places to stay are the Fairmont (Ritz Carlton until this spring), Hyatt, Sheraton Suites.....the usuals. They're all downtown or on the Plaza. If you'll spend any time in town outside the stadium, you'll probably be happiest on the Plaza. It's the country's oldest dedicated shopping district, officially called the Country Club Plaza. Built in the late 1920's as a unified shopping area for the wealthy, well away from downtown, located close to the nicest established residential areas. It covers about 14 city blocks total, lots of restaurants, bars, pubs, theaters, etc. All very walkable and compact. Downtown is relatively deserted after regular working hours. Westport is another bar and shopping area just about a mile from the Plaza. The Quarterage is there. It's OK, nothing outstanding.
As for parking, all stadium parking is on premises unless you want to walk a good distance. There are shuttles, though from downtown and the Plaza, but they take extra time.
Write back if you need more detailed info.

I agree with the above. Staying on the Plaza is best way to go. Sheraton on the Plaza is good but could also check out Raphael. Chiefs games are great.
I recently moved from KC to St. Louis and while I love the Rams, I truly miss the atmosphere of Chiefs stadium. I think Chiefs fans and their tailgates are unique to KC. Have fun.

I agree with the above. You must stay in the Plaza to get a true feel of KC. There are numerous hotels there. The Rapheal is beautiful and with a great view of the Plaza. As far as parking, you will want to go early, park on the grounds and tailgate. Break out that grill, pack a few cold ones and enjoy. It wouldn't be a Chiefs game if you didn't.
