3.what were your top four restaurants on each island for dinner
4. where is the best sunset view in kauai going from the marriott near the airport area to a somewhat close spot
5. from the kauai marriott, where is the best beach to hang out
6. is there any real great luau in kauai any where near the marriott
7. what 5 things in kauai should we make sure we do or see in kauai.
8. which helecopter tour in kauai do you recommendand why.

i have responses to two of the questions asked:
1 NO the hyatt is not the most luxurious hotel on maui...the ritz carlton or four seasons would be my vote. i found when i was planning my honeymoon, which was just last month, the travel agents kept pushing us towards hyatts, whether we were talking hawaii or aruba. i don't know if the hyatt chain has special incentives for agents, or what, but i know sooo many honeymooners go to those level of hotels and i didn't want to be somewhere where i felt i was a) one in a crowd, and b) where i felt like it was going to be like sleep away camp for honeymooners, esp since we got married in october, which is hurricane season for caribbean, mexico, etc, so you have to figure there are lots more newlyweds going to hawaii.

2) someone mentioned wanting peace and quiet and thinking of the grand wailea. that is a great hotel, but peaceful it isn't! true peace and quiet seems to happen in maui at the hotel hana maui. but it was pretty quiet at the ritz where we stayed.

Tracy,
We just got back from the 4 Seasons and liked it much better than the Grand - it is just too big. You will not beat the pool service at the 4 - it is the best. I love Ritz's too, but didn't get a chance to visit this trip. We visited Kaanapali and didn't care for it, liked Wailea area much more. We went to Lahaina once, and ate in the area of our hotel - there were plenty of restaurants.

I think the Lumahali (sp?) Gardens is the most outrageously beautiful and romantic place on Kauai. Don't miss this beautiful place.

My husband and I are considering going to Maui or Kuai April 23-30. We have not been to Hawaii since 1982! We want to know if those islands are now overcommercialized and too touristy! We definetly never want to see Oahu again--it's overcrowded and too touristy! Which island do you suggest for a fun, authentic feel of a Hawaiian vacation, where we can relax, swim, and still have some fun and nice places to visit--a place with good restaurants, where we can rent bikes, parasail and do some fun activities? Any ideas will help! Also, did you ever hear of a hotel in Maui called the Outrigger Wailea? Please e-mail me! Thanks!
