Just returned from great NYC trip
My wife, sister-in-law & I just visited Janaury 4-7 on our first visit to NYC and had a GREAT TIME! Holiday lights still up & limited crowds. We stayed at The Wellinton Hotel at 55th Street & 7th Avenue which is a great mid town location. Only 1 street (streets are very short blocks) to Carnigie Hall, 4 to Central Park, 6 to Rock Center & 12 to Times Square (only 10 minute walk). We visted Empire State building (60 seconds to 80th floor); toured NBC Studios; bus toured uptown & downtown & night time; 1 hour boat around harbor (only 50 on board with 722 capacity); women shopped South Street Market & I walked the Brooklyn Bridge (a must for all); rode subway to Financial District intentionally during morning rush hour for the experience; the Tram to Roosevely Island is closed for repairs; had great tasting & ample food at all places (can be pricey); felt save & welcomed; would do it all again next week if possible. The WTC is blocked from view by 6-8' barriers and the new platform was a 2-3 block wait. St. Paul's Chapel next to WTC is covered with flowers & posters & serving food for construction workers. Very moving. This Virginian had fun in the Big Apple.

I love NYC too! I used to go standby up there and go shopping when I worked for AA. It would drive my husband nuts. I am still trying to convince him that I need to do my patriotic duty and return for some more
PS Yes I support my local economy in Ft.Worth by shopping here as well. It is just more fun in NYC because they have brands you cannot get in littl'ole Fort Worth!
