Just back from Georgia

Hi, we just returned from a wonderful week touring the lovely state of Georgia. While driving throughout the country, I noticed so many homes with beautiful farmer porches and really nice large white rocking chairs outside. Any idea on where I can purchase them and what do they go for approximately ? Thaks, Julia

Julia, I am so glad that you enjoyed Georgia. I do hope everyone was gracious. The large rockers are available at many stores in the area. I will try and track those down and send you the information. I also saw some for sale at The Cracker Barrel Resturant.

One Web site you might try is:

http://www.brumbyrocker.com/

Brumby rockers are known throughout the south as being some of the best. They're made right down the street from me in Marietta, Georgia.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit here!

Utahtea,
I suggest seeing the following:

If you have children-

Six Flags Amusment Park
Stone Mountain (Laser Show)
World of Coke
Fox Theater (check to see what's on)
The Varsity (good, greasy food! a tradition)
See a Braves game

The High Museum of Art
Buckhead for the night life
Piedmont Park

Try to go down to Savanna
lots of history, culture, and a beautiful city.

Utahtea, I second Julie's suggestion of visiting Savannah. We lived there for 9 years. Many of the old homes have been restored and are beautiful, the downtown area has several lovely squares. Especially nice in the spring when the azaleas are in full bloom. A lovely town with much history and culture.

..Georgia is a great state with a flavor and style all it's own..very varied ..from mountains to seashore..Georgia has done wonders at preserving natural environment..look at the coast most of it is protected , managed wildlife refuge...we don't have a Daytona or Mrytle beach!..some of the small towns are the most charming in America..Savannah is unique and world class tourist destination..Atlanta is one of the most powerful economic areas in the world with GDP bigger than Greece
or Portugal....quite an impressive place ..from Ogelthorpe to Hank Aaron to Margret Mitchell to Jimmy Carter to MLK..Georgians have made their mark on the world..

some very classy and intelligent people live here..contrary to chauvanistic outside opinions...please come again!!!
