John Lennon's apartment

Does anybody know the name of the apartment building that John Lennon stayed in New York?

The Dakota. It's on Central Park West in the 60s or 70s (I think).

If you're referring to the apt. house where he ownder a place and where he was killed, it is The Dakota on the west side of the park - probably up between 80th and 90th (I'm guessing). I guess it would be on Central Park West, and it's on the corner. Isn't the Strawberry Fileds in Central Park roughly across the street? You'll probably get more precise information from someone in NYC.

The Building also features in the movie 'Rosemary's Baby' I believe ( There are Occult-like motifs used in the metalwork on the exterior methinks... ).

The Dakota Apartments are at 72nd Street. Opposite them, in Central Park, are "Strawberry Fields", a playground and memorial to John.

I believe the Dakota is around 75th and Central Park West. We were at the Natural History Museum at 79th and CPW last week and I was very upset when I looked at a map later and realized that I was only about four blocks from the Dakota.
