the top 10 airlines all posted an operating profit during the third quarter.....
U.S. passenger airlines garnered $924 million in bag fees from July to September 2012, and that comes on top of the $652 million they collected from a poor second cousin, change fees.
And, these numbers are only part of the airline ancillary revenue picture because U.S. airlines are not required to report other ancillary revenue, including fees for seat upgrades, food and beverage, and entertainment, including Wi-Fi.

Flew Jetblue recently crosscountry and the (blue) pillow and blanket are still $7. The pillow is actually a very lightweight neck pillow as is the blanket, very useful, so I'm going to be packing them for other long distance trips.
Jetblue still serves drinks and snacks. I'm addicted to their blue chips. If one needs more nourishment, then a sandwich purchased before flight would be a good idea.

Actually, JetBlue does sell snack boxes (in addition to their free snacks).

Their snack boxes are just that, though—large snacks, not meals.
But their complimentary snacks are better than those of most airlines, with a wider selection, and they let you have as much as you want (or at least did for those of us on a recent BOS-LAX flight).
They also let us watch the movies for free rather than having to pay extra for them, which was nice.
(And yes, I know this thread is ancient!)
