Jacksonville restaurants

I am heading to downtown Jax for a girls night out. We have tickets to a show and would like suggestions for restaurants in the area. Any help would be appreiciated. I have already eaten at the landing there and would like other suggestions.

In downtown Jacksonville the landing is it. Perhaps you could eat in the San Marco area instead? Try BB's on Hendrix Ave between the south bank of downtown and San Marco.

I second BB's, it is fabulaous and 5 min or less form downtown. Other suggestions ont he southbank of the river are Chart House and Ruth Chris as well as River City Brewing Company (directly across from the landing). The only real option in downtown that Iw oudl reccomend is Juliette's which is the restaurant inside the Omni hotel. Jacksonvilel downtown is lacking in any nightime acitivity including restaurants. I should know I work downtown in Wachovia building across the street from the Landing. I usually leave work around 6pm and downtown is already dead!

I agree with all the other recommendations. I do have some more. Depending on your likings, there is a great Thai restaurant, Pom's Thai Bistro in San Marco. There is also Matthew's and Bistro Aix that are fabulous. Matthew's is upscale and reservations are recommended.

Crush *my new favorite*
3630 Park St ( in Five Points)www.crushbistro.com

Bistro Aix ( get there before 7 if you don't want to wait- call and get a table held (no reservations but they will seat you first)

BBs...Good good good
Thai Pom, also very food! Big crowds weekend nights.

After having had lunch at the River City Brewery, I would never eat there again , maybe drinks.
Chart House has good views as does Ruth Chris..Ruth Chris requires reservations and you might already know they are expensive..but the view is Fabulous.
Matthews is fab too but I don't see it as a girls night out kinda place

sunlover! you are so close to me!

Thanks for all your help. I agree with Scarlett about river city brewing company. Drinks only. It is too bad downtown doesn't have more to offer. San Marco area is really cute and I think your guys are right and that is the place were headed.
