jackson hole activities

I'm very excited about an upcoming trip to Jackson Hole, WY. Does anyone have any recommendations about whitewater rafting groups and specific rivers and the like? I'd also welcome any input on golfing since my wife and I are a couple of duffers and we may try to squeeze a round in if recommended. Also, what are these chuckwagon rides all about?

The chuck wagon trips take you (and many other people) out in covered wagons. On the way your wagon gets ambushed (fairly amusing), then you go to a camp and have dinner and entertainment. Okay to do once in your life.

The Snake River is the river in Jackson Hole. When you get to your hotel, they have alot of tourist brochures, just pick the best tour for you.

We took a scenic/ whitewater combo trip with a company called Barker Ewing several years ago and we all loved it. You did the scenic portion first thing in the morning, stopped and had a big breakfast around a campfire which they prepared, then back on the Snake river for the whitewater portion which was just exciting enough! Our guide did all the work and we just held on which I liked since it was our first time. I was very comfortable with this company and I did some research beforehand.

We used Mad River Boat Trips. We were in a drought year though, so not many thrills on the Snake River. We also did the Bar T-5 chuckwagon dinner. I booked it mainly for the kids, but I ended up liking it just as much. The food was great, and they had this little sing along after that involved the crowd. I know it sounds corny, but it was a riot! I would also suggest going to the rodeo. It was fun to watch. Can't help you with golf- sorry.
