Jackie the Jokeman's Bayville

I've always wanted to visit the hometown of my favorite comedian, Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling. He proudly hails Bayville, Long Island, New York his home and, in fact, owns four "shacks" in that town. Apparently he often strides down to the Sound and has wild parties with beer, lobsters, clams, shrimp, crabs and more beer. Can anybody tell me about Bayville? Any Jokeman sitings? Any hotels or motels in Bayville? Bed and Breakfasts? What else is there to do in Bayville?

i live in bayville, and grew up about 10 miles away. it's a really really quiet town. everyone lives here year-round, but we are very much a summer place, on a peninsula off the north shore of Long Island. there is one very run down motel, but you could stay in a town nearby. i can tell you i've never seen him around, nor has anyone i know. maybe i just don't run in the clambakes on the beach crowd. there are several ok restaurants, most of which skate by on food b/c they have great views. put it this way, this town is so quiet that our video store just closed and the nearest blockbuster is about five miles away, down one of the 2 roads that lead out of town. things are more hopping in the summer, but we are by no means a resort or destination town, despite being graced by the presence of jackie martling. (I'm being ironic, in case you missed it) oh and most of bayville is populated by people who have lived here forever, and whose parents, grandparents etc lived here. it's very much mayberry around here, which is good and bad.

just curious, do you think you are going to wander into town, ask for a famous resident and be directed right to his house, where he will invite you to join him and a bunch of naked chicks for a wild party on the beach? oh and maybe howard will show up now that he's single.

Yes, Henry, I am jesting. But it is a vulgar world, is it not? After all, we live in the America of Howard Stern, Bill Clinton, Jennifer Lopez, Puffy Combs, Michael Eisner, the criminal gangs of the NFL, NBA and "college" athletics, Hollywood perverts and the pro-abortion lobby. Jackie the Jokeman isn't quite all that bad in comparison to those cretins.

Despite the residence of jackie martling, bayville is a very nice town to live in and raise a family. despite the fact that we have a corrupt ( in a small-town way) village government, which i think is somewhat of an epidemic in incorporated villages on Long Island, it's a nice town. not a vacation destination by any means, but then again how many vacation destinations make nice home towns. I am sitting here at my desk looking out at the water, and wondering what kind of godforsaken subdivision Tommy is living in.

If you just follow the ganga smell, you'll probably end up at Jackie the Jokeman's door (or one of his many doors) or "Stuttering" John Melendez's door. Both are very open about their drug use on the Howard Stern show.

Jackie is often a guest of Bobby Fay of the food network TV show Boy Meets Grill. Bobby Fay also has a nice slut girlfriend named Jacqui Malouf.
