Rant: Jorr didn't start FFRR at midnight on Thursday like he normally does.
Rave: We remembered anyhow! (I was looking for it too!)
No other rants here...
Big Rave: We're heading up north in about an hour for a long weekend!
Have a good one, everyone!

No, BayouGal, no problems here on Fodors... ever!
And why is the stupid knee still here? You would think that before they pulled our thread, they would have gotten the hint!
Have fun on your trip too, BG! Yours sounds so much more exciting.

Have a good time travel addict, I sure wish I was going up North too. But I can't this weekend. Hope you can make it for the 14th!!
Rave: Sunny and beautiful drive to work- the hills and forests look magnificent. And they said it was going to rain. WRONG!
Rant: Too many friends falling apart physically. You better do the real fun stuff and activities like pole dancing while you still can. LOL!
And I turned on PBS coming in and heard 9/11 tribute tapes and now I'm all choked up for the day.
Rave: Steve Irwin- a life well lead.
Rave: Football starts and it is great tailgate weather.
Rave: People traveling in to meet others at GTG's and new friends.
I won't put down any heavy rants although I have some doozies- because it is just too beautiful a day.
Have a good weekend everyone and travel light- in your heart as well as your "stuff".

RE: the "stuff"
In our family we call it our "bag of rocks".
My son was complaining about his girlfriend one day. She was ranting and ranting. He finally looked at her and said "Hey, I've got my own bag of rocks to carry around!"
It's been the phrase in my family every since.

It's getting "cold" here in the SF Bay area.I usually push the "linen season" well into the end of September. I think it's ending early.
Rave: a weekend off and dinner plans with friends at their house tomorrow pm. Otherwise, a clear two days. I can see more gardening on the horizon. I have a very busy day at the office(a full practice is a good one these days), tea with a colleague, pizza with SIL and DN and DN then...breath,breath, breath.
With the upcoming 9/11 I am thinking of a tribute. I'm not sure what it will be. BIL is a fireman so perhaps I'll discuss it with him. I was thinking of a donation to Doctors Without Borders or something in that vein. I can remember that day with such clarity! I remember thinking life, as we had known it, was over. I still think that's true.

This thread was up very early and the other not at all. I'm sorry if it misleads, but I'm not posting again.
I can't wait to meet you, Faina. I'm looking forward to meeting sfowler and swalter as well. They ARE dynamite people, and tres' dynamic as well- I know this. Have a good flight! Plus great fun.
PamSF and angelreader: Isn't the "stuff" just so unimportant when you think of the bigger issues, like people. I love the "bag of rocks"- I'm going to absolutely use that one myself.
I was just sent a wonderful 9/11 tribute epic length poem that made me cry profusely. They didn't go to work to become heros, but such a sacrifice they made! I would post it but it is very long and would make everyone cry. I'm thinking so much about the loved ones that are thinking of them and missing them every single day.
I need to garden this weekend as well. And it's my taking care of Dad weekend also, as his aide needs some time off. I'll be busy me. Take care!

Now that's priceless, LOL! Thanks for the smile, JJ5...it is the truth. I think I'll head to the playground this weekend to test out the pole.

PamSF - A new program in Lexington is Surgery on Sunday. Doctors, nurses, etc. volunteer their time once a month so people that don't have insurance can have free surgery. Perhaps there is a similar program in your area.
