Isle of Palms vs. Hilton Head

We're northerners looking for an escape in March that we can drive to. Been to Hilton Head and enjoyed the biking, tennis and just being in some warmth. Wondering about Isle of Palms - is there good accomodation there and what activities are there? Would like condo (low rise not a big development) accomodation. Also, although the water is far too cold to swim then, how do the beaches compare? Any/all info. most appreciated!

Our family of four, including two young boys, vacationed at Wild Dunes resort on Isle of Palms in August 1998 and loved it.

Wild Dunes has a variety of accommodations, great pools and a wide beach.

Isle of Palms is so handy to Charleston that we were in town almost daily.

We'd go back in a heartbeat.

The beaches are very similar to HH's. Same hard packed sand.

Kiawah is worth looking at as well. It reminds me alot of the Sea Pines section of Hilton Head.

I'm probably somewhat prejudiced since I live at Isle of Palms...

But, having nearby Charleston to visit (just a 20 min. ride), I think IOP is a good bet for your vacation.

If you check out either of the following sites, you can get good info on lodging:

Good luck...Carol
