Interesting Day trips from McGaheysville, VA

Looking for historical sites or outdoor activity day trips from McGaheysville, VA. (I do know about Skyline Drive)

OK, You are or will be on route 33 between Harrisonburg and Elkton. Are you visiting and looking for places to see and do or do you live there? It makes a difference on where to suggest.

The Natural Bridge is a little more than 1 hour away; the Museum of Frontier Culture in Staunton is about a 45 minute drive. Near the Natural Bridge is also a full-size replica of the Stonehenge made entirely of styrofoam, called, not surprisingly, Foamhenge.
