Be careful at Thanksgiving. I go every year but leave by Saturday. There is a huge medical convention which starts every year on Saturday or Sunday and hotels are imppossible to get for Saturday and after. The prices are jacked way up too. In the past, we have stayed at great places until the Saturday after T/giving for as little as $79/night. Note also that many musuems are open on Thanksgiving day. We'll be there this year!

We just got back from a week-end at the Inter-Continental. We found the location to be excellent. We walked everywhere we needed to go. There are plenty of shops near the hotel. The hotel is beautiful, the new lobby floor is stunning. You'll have a great time!!

The intercontinental is going thru a facelift just recently. Whether that includes rooms I don't know cuz I work next door. Priceline.com is a good way to get a good price. Since Sept 11 the city has been dying for tourists and the city even took up an ad campaign for tourism in Chicago for people in the suburbs. As far as all these distances all these weirdo's were quoting you, everything is within walking distance with comfy shoes not dress shoes. Good Luck

Bob, if you read this thread you would see that most of these "weirdos" told Melissa that the distances are not that far. However, she never did say how old her young daughter was. I can walk all over the city but when I am with my young child it isn't as easy.
