Inn at Union Square-a good place to stay?

We are headed to San Francisco in July. Would the Inn at Union Square be a good place to stay?

We stayed there in the fall of 1996 and enjoyed a room with a fireplace (we needed it!), continental breakfast, and afternoon tea (and cocktails). Each floor has its own little livingroom/reception area. It's a tiny hotel, but conveniently located, sparkling clean with a very nice staff. I hope it hasn't changed.

A good site to check on hotels in SF is www.sfgate.com The Inn at Union Square is well located, but have never stayed.

We stayed there years ago and it was wonderful. See if you can get into the carriage house room. Its secluded and charming, located in the back of the garden. We loved it. The hotel has a fabulous location.
