Inexpensive Hotel

My wife and I are planning to be in the Kona area of Hawaii for several days in June. We have looked at hotels in the Hapuna Beach area, which is where we would like to stay, but everything there is very expensive. Does anyone know of any reasonable hotels or decent B&B's in that area?

Hapuna's up in the Kohala area which is very expensive (but worth it if you can afford it). You can find more reasonable options in Kailua-Kona, including a bunch of condo options. Also, check out the Waikoloa Marriott, which is not too far from Hapuna. They have good rates and it's a very pleasant area.

You will get tons of information if you will repost using the subject line:
Inexpensive Hotel in Kona and it would be really helpful to know the travel dates so those of us with access to hotel databases can check using dates... which is the only real way to find available rates.
Don't worry, we can't stalk you if we know your dates.
