I'm Done with The Amazing Race!

Such a disgrace, and to think it had been my favorite show for years. To have 2 of the 3 final teams be such Ugly Americans and to have given us such a bad rap as they traveled around the globe is disgusting. Do the producers think this is cute?!
The brothers who won make my skin crawl because they were so rude to everyone they met. Oh yes, let's hate a country because they don't speak our language. ENOUGH. I hope they enjoy their million dollars, because anyone who saw them on this show would certainly not want to have anything to do with them.
Same goes for the dumb blonde who was not only ignorant, but nasty to boot.

Shame on you CBS!

When this show first started, I REALLY wanted to be a contestant. Then, a few seasons into it, when Rob & Amber were competing for the final leg and a win, they found an earlier flight back to the US, got on and the plane door was closed with the plane pulling away from the gate.... but WAIT suddenly the other couple clues in and wants to get on. SOMEHOW, the plane comes back to the gate and they are able to board. ??

I guess the producers realized that if Rob & Amber got to the final city 6 hours ahead of the other couple, there would be no "race." Who has EVER had a plane return to the gate for them? Not me.

Haven't watched it since.

I was so disappointed that the cowboys didn't win--but they certainly should be proud of themselves for the way they behaved during the entire race--never a cross word to each other, pleasant to everyone they met.

I'm diaappointed too abram. But it could have been worse if Caite and company won. That really would have been a major diappointment for me. Wish the Cowboys had won, but the brothers seemed to have shaped up a bit the last few episodes I saw.

Hope we have a better group next race, people that I can relate to better. It took me a long time with this group to warm up to any team. Always hate to see it end though and have to wait for the next season. Guess i'm a glutton for punishment!

I was disappointed, too, right up until the end when Brandi (?) yells at Caite. The cowboys said it best, at least they have their integrity in tact which is more important than money. So sorry they didn't win.

I feel your pain. I was yelling at my television many times during this season. The whiney brothers cut in line to win. I also think they should have been disqualified for flying first class even if they didn't pay for it.
I loved the cowboys. They even did their homework and bought a guidebook for CA before they went there.
You are right....they kept their integrity throughout. I would have pushed those brothers right out of line and I also would not have waited while Jordon just spun around standing in their way.
I have often wondered how many of these "reality" shows are totally scripted.

I, too, wanted the cowboys to win. And I couldn't believe how rude the ladies were to Caite at the finish line.

But I'll be watching next season, too. Amazing Race is still my favorite show.

Yep, people who buy Brazilian reals to spend in Chile are genius travelers and deserve to win.

I was surprised (and a little disappointed) the cowboys didn't win -- I like when the people who sniped at each other least win. A few years ago, I met the young couple who won while waiting for a plane at LAX -- they were always, ALWAYS, nice to each other on the show and in person.

As far as going first-class, not sure how that happened, but if it isn't against the rules, then why not? It's a game, and the game is a race, so why wouldn't you do what you could to get ahead? Same goes for the U-turn --- the women were still so obnoxious at the end about that I couldn't believe it --- you lost, get over it. Although I thought the blonde was embarrassed by her partner's ranting, both this week and the week they were eliminated.

As for the Lucasfilm thing, yeah, I didn't understand why the cowboy didn't just walk around the brother.

And yes, the cowboys had a guidebook, but was it a fluke that it was for San Francisco? At least the brothers had made a list that allowed them to complete the last task pretty handily.

Everything AnnMarie said. Loved the cowboys and am sorry they didn't win. I'm really hoping the next season will be a big improvement with better casting.

I don't think that one guy could have walked around the other at the the ILM thing. If I recall correctly from earlier in the challenge, if the person stepped outside the bounds of the virtual world, they had to start over - and there just wasn't enough room in the virtual hallway.

I also don't think that the guidebook was a fluke - they knew they were flying to SF so they bought a guidebook.

Considering the cowboy had to wait while the brother was spinning and spinning right in front of his nose during the ILM challenge, it's surprising that it took the cowboys so long to connect his spinning with the solution to the problem.

I have no problem with the brothers winning.

To my mind the most unfortunate win was still many seasons ago when the boyfriend and girlfriend won. The girlfriend (Flo, I think) was the biggest, whining piece of nastiness to her long-suffering boyfriend throughout the entire race, virtually quitting the competition on the next to last leg. Thanks to the patience and perseverence of her boyfriend, they made it into the finals and somehow managed to come in first. IMO, that was the saddest win.

Well then, that was very smart! I, too, though, thought it odd that they didn't figure out the spinning move sooner, since they saw what the brother was doing.

The winners I mentioned above (the ones I met at LAX) were TK and Rachel. Loved them.

Completely OT....november_moon, as long as you're here, any chance you were at the game Saturday? We were, and it was AWESOME!!

Schmerl, my Dirty Monkey buddy, I agree with you. The rules say you can't fly first class. Have to fly coach. Even though they didn't buy that ticket, it was a huge advantage. But I think Cord blew it by not be able to read the spinning thing. I think he spent way too much time there and that is where they lost the race.

Not so, at least according to wikipedia, Teams are required to purchase economy class airfare when they fly, using the credit card provided by the show. Teams may ask the airlines to upgrade their tickets to first or business class as long as they only pay economy fare.

I have a question - they finished the race in San Francisco. I work in San Francisco. How is it possible to keep it under wraps while filming?

Try to keep it as inconspicuous as possible. Nobody was at Candlestick for the final. I'm sure there are spoiler sites that say Team A, Team B and Team C are the ones running. i don't look for sites like this. They don't have bright signs that say Amazing Race Contestants.

I was cheering for the cowboys and didn't like the brothers' trick while in line at the airport. But it didn't change the outcome. They got ahead because they were smart enough to ask for the free upgrade. They really did get better and whine less over the course of the season and they ran a smart leg at the end when it most counted.

The models and the female couple both made themselves look bad at the end, but they had done that the entire race.

Yes, but climbing up the side of Coit Tower? I'm surprised they could keep this quiet as it's a huge tourist site and right in the middle of town. It seems like it would be harder to blend in there than at either an empty Tonga Room or Candlestick Park or walking down a crowded street (even carrying that huge trunk).

People probably saw it but depending on the size of the production, they may have closed the entire area off (not sure if they can with Coit Tower)so that you could only get a distant view of the contestants.
