I'll travel alone, please give some tips

Hi I'm in Seattle and I need some tips
cause I'll travel alone to Grang Canyon (South Rim) and I don't have much money.

1. Where can I find the cheapest bus ticket and what is the cheapest hostel?

I would be so glad if someone can help me.
Thanks a lot

First of all you will not find any places to stay at Grand Canyon this summer because they are all filled up.
The only bus that could get you there is the Greyhound bus and it is not really cheap!!

Try camping, if you wanna go cheap. An outfitter company will rent you a tent and sleeping bag, if you don't own them.
You'll be able to stay in the national parks campgrounds for less than ten bucks a night. I don't know about South Rim, but many NP campgrounds have a no-reservations policy, you just have to show up.

If you want cheap in the Southwest, camping is the way to go. There are few hostels, but campgrounds are all over.

I don't think there is a hostel at the Grand Canyon. There's one (or maybe two) in Flagstaff, but that's 80 miles or so from the Canyon.

There are bus trips from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon, maybe Gray Line Tours? They tend to have a lot of young adults from various countries on those buses.

You could stay in Las Vegas or Flagstaff
and take a day trip to the Grand Canyon.
I read that the hostels have trips to the Canyon.

The hostel in Flagstaff is only for international backpackers. They refused to let my son stay there, even though he is an AHA member. There is a good hostel in Phoenix, but he was only allowed to stay there for one night at a time, because they were full. He found a cheap hotel, and was allowed to go back to the hostel every other night.
