3 perfect weeks in Italy, and we just went back again for our 5th Anniversary. I would change the following 3 things:
1. Hope the temp would dip below 100 degrees at least one day.
2. Hope that our bags would not get lost TWICE on the trip.
3. Pack much less clothing. We didn't wear much : - )

We got married 8 months after 9/11 and our original plans were to go to Europe for 3 weeks, but I postponed them due to terrorist worries and we went to San Francisco/Napa/Palm Springs/Las Vegas instead and it was great. But we could have gone to Canadian Rockies, which would not have been a terrorist worry. But we're going to go there this year (Canadian Rockies). But hope to spend our 5 year anniversary maybe in Italy. So many places to go, so little time!!!

Wouldn't change it at all It was 15 years ago and we went to the Canadian Rockies. Stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel for only one night...that was all we could afford...then in some cabins we found near Lake Louise, then at the Emerald Lake Lodge. We loved the area and especially the cabins so much that we went back last summer, although with the kids.

We had very little money on our honeymoon so did picnic lunches everywhere and were really scraping. Had a wonderful time and reinforced that money does not buy happiness for us

we would also NOT leave the day after the wedding. we had an early morning flight and that really wasn't necessary. we were SOOO tired!
and don't get me wrong..we had a GREAT time on our honeymoon (caribbean), but if we could re-do it we would pick a more exotic location. we're very good with our travels (and LOVE to travel) but we now have a toddler and we obviously won't be able to do exotic for awhile...and when i say exotic, i mean somewhere far...like french polynesia, or the seychelles or australia. and yes, i know there are people who do long travels with little ones..but not for us. we don't have the courage!

I would have made it a week longer. We stayed in Kauai for 1 week. I wouldv'e liked to have added another week on a differnt island.

1. I would not have left for Hawaii on the morning after the wedding - it was too long a trip from Boston.
2. I would have booked first class for both ways - we went first on the way out but coach on the way back. The difference was only $200.
3. I would not have gotten severely sunburned on the 2nd day. Ouch.
4. I would not have stayed at our hotel in Kauai - the beach was rocky and the hotel was convenient to nothing. Since it was well before the internet and helpful sites like this one we had no way of validating our choice.

But the trip really was wonderful and I would love to go back again.

I know my brother would like to take his entire trip over. They went to Bermuda and were both hit with a stomache flu for 3 days.

Almost 25yrs ago we spent our "honeymoon" in an appliance store buying a washer and dryer.

They finally gave up the ghost about 4-5 yrs ago but I think we're still going strong. :-?
Heck...We've been lucky in that most of our life has been one big honeymoon. Takes work but it pays off.

Wouldn't change a thing.

Spent two weeks on a beach in Mexico with my sweetie after three nights in Charleston re-grouping from the wedding.

Flew First Class.

In fact, we had so much fun, we extended our stay twice. By one night the first time and then stayed until they were sold out and we had to leave two nights after that.

I would have chosen Kauai, not Oahu. I also would have spent two weeks. Too long of a flight to go for only one week. Going to Kauai this year was wonderful. I think I could do a new song about leaving my heart there!

25 years ago we were lucky enough to buy a house right before we got married. Since neither sets of parents wanted to pay for the wedding we had very little funds to travel. So we went to Cape Cod for 6 days (it was off season). We stood on our own two legs and despite our parents have been happily married (with 5 children) for 25 years. We have traveled quiet a bit in the ensuing years, so would I redo my honeymoon trip? Sure, why not? But the world is large and I'm running out of time to explore it, so I'd rather try some place new. Just hubby and me.

If I could re-do anything regarding my honeymoon trip, I would make sure I caught my connecting flight so that I would actually get to my honeymoon destination! Our luggage arrived before we did.

I think that the biggest thing that I would change would be to not leave after the brunch on the sunday of our wedding weekend..it was just too much..For me, as well, it would have also been nice to wait a couple of weeks so that I could have ajusted to married life before going..to fully enjoy it

Our time was constrained and we had a great distance to travel.

53 years ago we left the middle west for March AFB,CA by way of Oregon (my parents couldn't come to the wedding).

We were sort of rushed because AF
set our arrival date so we took across country with all of our earthly possesions in my '49 Ford.

Looking back we wouldn't do anything different.

We finally made it to our originally planned destination - Quebec - for our 40th. :-B

We went to Bermuda for our honeymoon in 1970, loved it so much that we went back for our 25th in 1995, and plan to go again for our 50th in 2020 (but I've given DH notice that the motor scooters are out for that trip).

The only thing we changed was staying at the all-inclusive 70 room Harmony, instead of the massive Sonesta, where we got food poisoning.
