Go into agriculture?

I read in the paper that this is the current prediction. Do you think its spot on and do you think you may do something different? (*its only 16 years away)

I found it interesting and almost a green light to begin now....

Most of us could live on half of what we eat,so it might work out pretty good. I own a trash company and I can assure you that half of the food most people buy is thrown away.

We are presently consuming as IF we had 6 (SIX!) planets EARTH! So 16 years is longterm compared to a human lifespan but really short when it comes to the need to reduce consumption. Regarding the latter it's not 5 to but rather 5 PAST 12!

Instead of requesting more children to be born we should all (not just India !) invent the one-child-policy.

Answer to the OQ: start a veggie garden, get loads of sleeping pills (prescription!) and wait until finally pi$$ed off by the mess which is in the pipeline for all of us!
I would not consider myself a pessimist but rather optimistic as I do start a veggie garden !

And the Chinese are now considering abandoning its one-child policy, which has been a demographic disaster in the making (too many old people, not enough young to support that economy).

And, in western Europe, at least, its under-population that may well be the cause of future difficulties. Spain, Greece, Austria, are all in demographic death spirals.

CERTAINLY! The request for constant increase of productivity is a vicious circle in itself.
That should also be discussed in Copenhagen right now as not only the World's population will cause massive problems.

The whole system - doesn't matter in one who lives - is a death spiral!

When I see the San Fran and white house folks planting a garden on state capital/house grounds, Michelle Obama going to be on the food network along with one of her chefs...it seems that it will become an issue to more and more of us the more we pay attention.
