Nantucket, Nantucket, Nantucket! Close second would be Portland, Maine, third would be Sag Harbor, New York. Obviously, I like those coastal areas...

Currently Greenwich, CT resident who commutes to NYC.

I'm confused. If you were forced to move, let say especially by Corporate America, would you get a choice of where you want to live? I think the real question should be where would you live if you had the freedom to live where you want. But if my company said I had to move but could live where ever I want. I think I would choose Santa Fe.

I've often said I could never live anywhere but in California so this is an interesting question to ponder. If I could stay in CA I'd find it easy to move to Santa Barbara or a small town in Sonoma, like Sebastopol. If you are forcing me to leave my state I would easily opt for Tuscany. Is that an option? If I have to limit it to the U.S. I'd choose Hawaii. Can you tell I don't want to live where it snows?

Marblehead MA - of course I would have to have a view of the harbor! It is beautiful and the people are very friendly. Very close to Boston too!

I would have said Ipswich, MA, as I always feel I'm in a spiritual home there--but the post about the Carolinas is making me think again. It's getting cold here now.

I agree with Thomas. I'm afraid I would have to leave the country & go to Vancouver also. The greatest city I have ever visited.
