I travelled 3-D today

One of our popular posters invited us to a 3D show of photographs by the well-known Robert Bloomberg, I did not know it WAS her husband, a charming and very witty man with also great musical talent. Nor did I expect that beautiful voice that emanated from the screen to belong to our poster, Marilyn Freund. She and her husband came all the way from Marin County to present this show. Those of you who didn't come that are in the area, missed out.
Thanks Marilyn. More than the lyrical Tuscany, I loved the ancient temples of Angkor and The Day of the Dead.

3D Visions: Stereography by Robert Bloomberg

A Retrospective of Stunning 3D Stereoscopic Images and Multi-Media Presentations
One of the world?s leading contemporary stereoscopic photographers, Robert Bloomberg, will present several of his most acclaimed 3-D multi-media works on Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 2:00 PM, at The National Heritage Museum in Lexington, Massachusetts.

This program, presented by Stereo New England / NE3D, represents some of Mr. Bloomberg?s most celebrated and recognized work in the areas of stereo still photography and original musical composition. The award-winning short programs will be shown in a large-screen, multi-projector presentation that is open to the general public and is free of charge.

THE PROGRAM:

Variations On A Screen: A Duet For Camera & Computer (1995, 6 min.)

A blend of traditional stereo photography and whimsical computer manipulation.

The City Quakes: The S.F. Earthquakes of 1906 & 1989 (1992, 15 min.)

This historic show features rare stereo images of the San Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906 as well as dramatic 3D photos of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

Portrait Of Tuscany (1998, 14 min.)

A dreamlike view of one of the most charming places on earth, with each photographic image flowing poetically into the next

Best of Show, Stereo Theater, National Stereoscopic Association Conference, 1998

Hidden Stereo Treasures (1997, 6 min.)

A tongue-in-cheek look at some highly unusual and unlikely stereo cameras.

About Face, A Show Of Masks (2000, 6 min.)

A dramatic sampling of this universal art form, featuring 70 masks from 14 countries.

Day Of The Dead (1999, 11 min.)

Once a year, at the beginning of November, the souls of the dead return for a unique homecoming. This show follows the preparations for this remarkably joyous festival. Filmed in Oaxaca and Mixquic, Mexico.

Frogs & Friends (1997, 12 min.)

Frogs as you?ve never seen them before, with stereo macro cameras providing stunning close-up detail. This show features some of the world?s most colorful creatures; from the tiny jewel-like golden mantella to the giant, cannibalistic Argentine horned frog. The "friends" range from a shy chameleon to a friendly whale.
