I strongly encourage everyone NOT to travel at this time!

So many brave but foolish people out there.
I and most of the people I know have stayed pretty close to home since the attack. I was a world wide traveler before. Since the attack I have not been more than a mile from home and quickly do all my errands always looking over my shoulder.
I have asked my boss for emergency time off since the attack. I refuse to be in a large office building that will most likely be attacked anytime now. At night I lay in bed and think about the next attack, will it be nerve gas, germ warfare, or a nuke? I do not know but it will come very soon.
These are evil people who will stop at nothing. I feel safer at home and wonder about the people who act like life is the same, going places far from home without a care in the world. Stay at home please.

Every city's ecomony is hurting right now, not only New York and not just the airlines. How about staying home and pumping money into your own economy by supporting the shops and restaurants in your own town instead of helping somewhere else at your hometown's expense?

To paraphrase Stacy she said stay home and don't go on any "silly trips." These silly trips Stacy keep the economy going and keep us connected to family and friends who live thousands of miles away! There are no guarantees in this life Stacy, and hunkering down and worrying is not LIVING!

My advice to you Stacy, turn your tv off and go donate blood, bake cookies for your local firehouse, give money or bottled water, deliver meals on wheels, visit a hospice and see how cancer patients still have hope and still keep on living even though they have been given months or weeks to live. STOP WORRYING ABOUT THINGS YOU CANNOT CHANGE!!!

Suzie, while you're in Kauai looking at the beautiful mountains and scenery, don't forget to cast a thought to the unlucky 7000 and the selfless firefighters and rescuers who are spending 12 hour plus shifts day in and day out digging on a man-made mountain of steel and rubble.
I'd ask you to toast them too, but where you're going the bar closes at 8PM.

Stacy, the terrorist groups must be rubbing their hands together in glee to see opinions such as yours.
The President and Government are totally right in telling us to support the economy by getting back to work and putting money back in.
I'm accompanying my husband on a business trip to Ohio on Oct 9th. It's only 450 miles away but we have had tickets booked on Southwest for a month or two, and we intend to support an airline which has carried us efficiently and cheerfully in the past by being on our plane (providing it's still scheduled!!)
Now, getting on the plane for the first time since the tragedy isn't going to be easy for any of us, it's going to require some personal courage. It's like a person who has been badly injured in a car accident plucking up the courage to get back into a car and starting to drive again. And of course, that may be just one step too far at the moment for some, not just those who have lost friends and loved ones.
For others, and maybe Stacy you are one, just getting out of the house, going to the mall, and going back to work will take the same degree of courage. But think of the courage shown by those young sailors setting off on the 'Theodore Roosevelt' bound for who knows what. Let's all show our own courage in doing our own bit to help to get the country - and the country's economy - back on its feet. Stacy - if you can't face going back to work, do please try a bit of volunteering, as others have suggested. I am sure you won't have to go too far from home to find something to do, and it will make you feel so much better.

Rosemary, Give me a break do you really think the terriorist are surfing the net at the moment. Take care of yourself Stacy if travel at home makes you feel safe then fine. Saving is a good idea for people who feel they could not handle a recession. We all need to take care of ourselves first Stacey and your plea does look like panic. No need for that just do what you have to do. This is life did we really think we could coast on through it with out a national crisis ever? Just keep your perspective we will all get through this. It is not patriotic to march yourself to the poor house.
