I just gotta say...

I never paid attention to the fall foliage before we moved to Georgia from Central New York, but now that we've moved back, I can't get over how beautiful it is! I'm so happy to be home...

the leaves are already changing in Georgia?

We're in Virginia and are planning on going to the Shenandoah Valley the weekend after next. I hope it's pretty then.

And you're right, it makes you feel good to be home...

The way I understand the OP, it is in New York that she can't get over how beautiful it is.

Yes, I think the OP is back in NY.
I'm in NE Indiana, trees are definitely changing, some are very pretty right now.

This might actually be a good year for leaf peeping.

Bonise,

We were on Skyline Drive from Front Royal to Route 33, about sixty miles last week. The shades of green were starting to change slightly and some Virginia Creeper had turned red at higher elevations.

I'm in Woodstock and can see that the top of Massanutten Mountain to the east is starting to change as are the Alleghenies to the west.

There should be a definate change by next week.

I know exactly what you mean. I grew up in New England and never appreciated it until after I moved to Southern California and visited family back "home" in the fall.

Unfortunately, the only color change on the trees here today are caused by wildfires.
