How's Biloxi (Beau Rivage) at end of April

Hi everyone,
In the on-going quest to plan a birthday golf weekend for my SO, I'm now looking at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. He'd expressed an interest in going there prior to Katrina and then in wasn't available for a long time, but now it seems to be up and running again. Can anyone answer these questions for me?

Is it a nice hotel? Since we're only going for a long weekend (check in Friday, golf Saturday, golf Sunday, check out Monday), it's likely we'll never get into town so we'll amuse ourselves at the casino and shows in the evening. Will there be enough for us to do?

If we should venture into the city, what area of town would be best?

Has anyone played the Fallen Oaks golf course? Is it nice? He's only a 'middling' golfer -- will it be too difficult for him to enjoy?

Finally, at least for now, is it generally pretty warm in Biloxi by the end of April?

Anything else you can tell me about it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The only thing I can answer for certain is the weather question: it will be warm late April. I can't give you an exact temp, but probably lower 70s for a high and a bit humid, but not as humid as mid-summer.

Beau Rivage was in the construction phase when I moved away, but it was supposed to be one of the nicer casino/hotels. I don't know what else there is to do in Biloxi because I'm not sure what has or has not been rebuilt/reopened after Katrina.

I understand the Beau Rivage just opened in November and it gets good reviews on Expedia. I haven't checked TripAdvisor yet.

Thanks for the temperature information. What about rain?

hdm - Rain is certainly a possibility that time of year (or any time, for that matter). It doesn't stick out in my mind as being a particularly rainy time of year, as least compared to summer and early fall.

Thanks, TW. I've had a chance to look at TripAdvisor and all reviews are first-rate, so I think that's where we'll go. SO thinks Fallen Oaks looks too difficult for a golfer of his limited ability so he's going to seek out some easier courses nearby. Are you a golfer? Any suggestions?
