How will traffic be from Baltimore to New York City on Thanksgiving Day?
I will be driving from Baltimore to New York City on Thanksgiving Day, using Interstate 95 and the New Jersey turnpike. Anyone have an opinion about the type of traffic I can expect on Thanksgiving? Will it be worse on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving?

I concur, as a frequent traveler from DC/Baltimore up to Philly and points north on Turkey day to visit family. The earlier the better. If you leave between 8-9. You should be able to miss the traffic on the Tydings Bridge Toll and Delaware Toll and probably not deal with much inbound NYC traffic. While traffic is pretty good on Thurs. it definitely picks up as the day goes on.
Wednesday is an absolute No-No unless you leave like 5am. It typically takes my roommate upwards of 6-7 hours to go from DC to North Jersey on Wednesday. 95 is absolute parking lot during the day and night on thanksgiving eve
