Great set of posts to read here! Tony, I was surprised by your observation that it's hard to get people talking in your part of the world. Certainly, they are cordial as can be to visitors, as we discovered when we visited Scotland. Tho it is embarrassing to have difficulty understanding someone who is speaking basically the same language. Which you may discover, especially if you get into the South here.
