How should we spend 3 days in Bar Harbor?

Hello!

My husband and I will be spending 3 days in Bar Harbor, Maine in a couple of weeks and are looking for advice on what to do while we are there. We would like to hike (preferably moderately difficult trails) and are thinking about renting bicycles for a day. Any advice on specific hiking trails to take or where to go if we spend a day riding bicycles would be greatly appreciated! Any general feedback would be fantastic as well. We both like to be active and be outdoors as much as possible.

Thank you in advance!

Oh, and in case you don't know, there are miles and miles of carriage roads on MDI, no cars and great for biking.

It is also possible to charter a small sailboat for a few hours and sail around the harbor and islands. We enjoyed that.

We've hiked up the Champlain Trail and Gorham Mtn Trail, both with spectacular views of the ocean at various points. You can go all the way to Cadillac Mtn too. Riding on the carriage trails is a wonderful way to view the scenery, and you can rent bikes right in downtown BH. Lots and lots to do in Acadia!

Great Head Trail and Ocean Path are a must. The hiking is not very difficult (unless it rains), but the scenery is spectacular. The Beehive Trail is very popular and difficult. It is a trail with ladder rungs in the rock face.

Pick up the Appalachian Mountain Club's guide for Acadia. It has great descriptions of all of the trails and accurate maps. It also has bike routes and kayaking info.
