prevalence of drugs & the crimes that go with them

Huh? Never seen drugs in eastern WA (small towns, I mean). Well, not counting booze. Beer and vodka are the drugs of choice here

And the crimes that go with them.... Drugs don't cause the majority of crime, and certainly not house break type crimes- People's stupidity and greed cause crime!

LOL starrsville, article in our local newspapers website today. A fellow in the next city south of us left his motor running, ran into the convenience store, no sooner got in the store and someone was backing up his car. The owner ran out to stop him (sort of like the guy in Italy lol). Another fellow in another vehicle took a shot at the car owner (fortunatly he missed him). The carjacker took of in the stolen car. Got about 2 miles, got on I-80, CHP saw the vehicle and chased it..vehicle crashed into another vehicle. The idiot was arrested.

Nope, one does not want to leave keys in their vehicles or unlocked vehicles in the area that I live in, no indeed. Just reading the various articles every day..it doesn't scare me..but it makes me wonder how many idiots we have in our area (the crimenals not the victims). A lot in the city south of me..that is where tons of people on parole and probation are sent to, sigh.

Leaving keys in the vehicle is just asking for trouble- same with no locking up a bike....

I would never be too upset if we left the keys in the door when we were gone - it's just "stuff". But to leave the door unlocked when sleeping at night? If a family member got hurt, that's something no insurance policy can undo. In fact, we have an alarm system that we generally only arm when we are home. Just my 2 cents...

Our alarm system is two Golden retrievers- one of which is very large with a loud/deep bark, and people are wary of him (though he's just a big sweetie)

bobrad,

I have been thinking about doing that. Except I would probably use a barking dog recording to keep the neighbor's cats from using my yard as a litter box.

Did I tell you that when my neighbor chased an unwanted dog down the street with a shovel, the rest of us joined with pitchforks and torches?

A riot is an ugly thing!

my SO and I live in the booneys. They NEVER lock their car door. We do lock our house though because, where we live, you never know if wildlife will be walking in
