How long do you save before you go?

I'm like cactushugger, I do without other luxuries in order to travel. I'm usually only able to do one really big trip (Hawaii) every other year but I do it up right! I put it on a credit card - low interest - and then pay it off over time. Once it's paid off, I start planning the next trip. I know that's backwards from saving, but what the heck?
