How expensive..............
Hi:
I'm planning to visit New York state and
other close states by an RV,staying in CG(campgrounds)and taking day trips to different points of interest. Can someone give an idea how expensive it will be.I do know that it depends on what I wish to do.
Have any of you done the trip by RV?Is it
extremely expensive?besides the gasoline to get there and eating out, which should any other concerns.I'm traveling alone and of
course I'll be visiting wineries and good places to eat. Thanks for your replies, parigi

I live in Michigan, my family and I rented a RV for a week and went up north and all around, to the Sleeping bear sand dunes, Ludington, etc. We paid $1000 for the RV and about 30-40 dollars a night at many different campsites. Good luck and have fun.

Don't know exactly what your plans are - but should advise you really can;t do an RV in New York City - there's simply no place to put it. If you are planning on visiting the City I believe there is a place to put such vehicles in New Jersey and take public transit into the city.

As utahtea pointed out, there are sepecialized RV forums where you can get better replies.
I've visited NYC in my RV a couple of times, staying at hte Liberty Harbor RV Park and Marina in Jersey City; it's right off the NJ Turnpike and a few blocks' walk to the PATH subway, which has stops in the financial district, Greenwich Village, and Penn Station. The staff are friendly and helpful, with photocopied maps that have exactly the information that you (and most of their other guests) need.
Liberty Harbor is $60 per night in the summer , $40 in winter. PATH fare is $1.50.
