How are Florida Keys after Hurricane Georges?
Talked to our daughter in Key West Fri. afternoon & Sat. a.m. Lots of trees/limbs down, power lines down, some phones working then, some not. They hadn't gotten around that much to see other damage. US 1 was closed. Marathon apparently had a lot more water over roads. Pictures on TV this a.m. looked bad, but not as bad as it could have been.

The Keys should be open for business, especially Key West in a few days. Lots of wind and water. Not as bad as it could have been. The Keys just before K.W. sustained much more damage. Cudjoe Key where we have a friend who has a home, Big Pine Key and Little Torch Key sustained much more damage. Water and power should have been restored by now.

I have the same concern because we are booked into Hawk's Cay Resort for early November. Hawk's Cay is on Duck Key, which is above maybe 5 miles north of Marathon Key. We are anxious for an un-biased view of whether the vacation may be marred by the hurricane. If so, we still have time to book another destination. Any first hand knowledge out there of damage to or conditions of accomodations in the middle keys? Also, we are divers - did the reefs sustain much damage from Georges?
