P_M, just came across your thread about friends/family thinking you're crazy for meeting other fodorites......
I went through two days of those same assumptions from my DH -- axe murderer, kidnapping, steal my kidney, being abducted and never seen again, showing up on a milk carton. I got it all! Finally, he came around!
See you tomorrow!

I'm no longer a "virgin"!! I attended my first Fodor's gtg ! WooHoo!
In attendance: DebitNM (of course!) and her DH, AnnMarie_C, P_M, Moldyhotelsaregross, rkkwan, dfr4848 and yours truly. Debi is doing great -- what a lady.
A fun time was had by all. Cheap wine in styrofoam cups, cheese in the shape of Texas (AnnMarie loved that!), and lots of stories and laughs. A great Thai dinner followed and no fusses over the tip!
I had a great time with all of you!! Looking forward to it again!!

Great pictures! I'm just so amazed you thought of this DebiNM! I see patients every week who are down and out about being 'confined' to a health care setting.
This was just such a great way to seize & enjoy the day!
You are so innovative - it's got me curious as to what you do professionally?
This was the best example of 'thinking outside the box' I know of!
Beachgirl247: Didn't you say you are pregnant?? I don't see the evidence yet. When are you due, again?

Good Morning!
We had a wonderful time yesterday at the GTG -- I was overwhelmed with all of you accepting my hasty invite.
We had such a good time -- it was like old friends getting together even though most of us hadn't met in RW before.
The conversation flowed just like the wine -- easy. We had so much to talk about -- travel and all kinds of related talk and some of our favorite threads on here.
We went out for an excellent Thai dinner at Nit Noy and we passed around all of the wonderful dishes that we'd ordered and it was so much fun.
As promised, "moldy" brought me my medicinal chocolates as well as Chocolate covered strawberries for all to share.
We started off a bit confused. I had told everyone to meet in the "atrium" but it really isn't officially known by this name.
So DH and I are sitting and waiting for everyone. I start thinking what if everyone doesn't know its us. So I look across and see the computer room. I go over and print a sign that says: FODOR'S HOUSTON GTG. As I walk out of the room; I am holding up the sign showing to DH and Ann Marie and Don jump up from where they are sitting and rush over. It was pretty funny, maybe you had to be there. I wish you all could have been there, it was a huge boost in my recovery.
Ray -- the pictures are terrific! Thanks so much for taking them and posting them as I slept.
We fly back to ABQ on Wed. and then drive home to CO on Thursday after last doctor appointment tomorrow. We are off to the zoo today.
