Malesherbes,

Thanks for the explanation, that explains why Hotwire prices are higher, but I would also think that if Hotwire buys a block of rooms that they've paid for whether they get filled or not, that the prices on unsold rooms would hit rock bottom on Hotwire the day before or day of a booking? I mean a very low rate is better than nothing, right?

I haven't been in the hotel business since 2003 but back then any excess inventory (last minute) and projected excess inventory (future dates) were given to priceline and hotwire at around the same price.
