Hotwire and Las Vegas Hotels
Does anybody know what hotwire usually offers for a 4 or 5 star hotel on the strip? I have already done a search on this site and checked out www.biddingfortravel.com (which deals mostly about priceline) and haven't been able to find out anything. Help?

Bidding For Travel supports Priceline Bidding, not Hotwire bidding, which might explain why you weren't able to find much there.
You probably saw that as far as PRICELINE goes, the 4* and 5* hotels that have popped up have been
South Strip:
Venetian 5*
Mirage 4*
MGM Grand 4*
Freemont Street area:
The Golden Nugget 4*
Northwest Las Vegas:
JW Marriott 4*

Although i'm a fan of Priceline, i wouldn't necessarily recommend it for Las Vegas, as most of the time you get a hotel off of the strip, and it's the one city where an "equivalent" deal can often be found.
The above obviously doesn't apply if there is an VERY large convention in town OR you are just looking for a cheap place for Fri+Sat nite, and plan on staying on the strip for the remainder of your trip. But for midweek, i often think the "risk" of priceline isn't worth it.
