Hottest spot in Chicago

The sutton Place Hotel-Chicago is located in the heart of entertainment and nightlife area on Rush and Oak street. Rush street has been well-known for extravagant dining and fine entertainment.

The hotel has a striking architectural beauty. Their service is also remarkable. You can actually experience world-class treatment. Whiskey Bar & Grill is another outstanding addition to the hotel.

This is the place you want to be in Chicago.

Is this an advertisement? By the way, take it from someone who lives in Chicago, Rush street is not trendy. The area of bars and such around Rush and division are all very touristy really few locals hang out in this area.

Eve,

"Cool" is a relative term - but places I think are cool and like to go to are the Green Mill, the Hop Leaf, Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (a play), B.L.U.E.S on Halsted, Rosa's, The Hideout. With the exception of B.L.U.E.S., these all tend to be off the beaten path - especially the Hideout which can be hard to find - it's in an industrial area. Also, look for cool bands rather than just cool places - one suggestion would be the New Duncan Imperials. Check the Reader for critics picks.

I our recent trip we stumbled on a restaurant I will want to visit again and again. It's Le Colonial. The food was inventive, not outrageously expensive, and the atmosphere both in the restaurant and the bar upstairs were in my opinion "cool". Their website is: http://www.savvydiner.com/chicago/lecolonial/
