I think the OP meant based on HER schedule and needs, Sunday was the only time she had available; not that it was the only time open for walking.

I didn't read it that way at all! I read it to mean you could only do it on Sunday, and they didn't have time on Sunday and wanted to do it on Saturday!

I did think that walking the bridge was only on Sunday, I thought I read about that the last time I was in SF, must have been thinking of something else with the bridge. At this point I am so tired from trying to plan this trip I can't see straight and it shows!!!!

Thank you all for helping and giving me correct info.

OK rbhm, I guess that aren't that many SF residents on board or people who are familiar with the area, but there is a hotel that is within fairly easy walking distance of USF, the Laurel Inn. It is located at California and Presidio, and I believe has recently undergone renovations as a Joie de Vivre property. If you take a look at an SF map you will see that it is a 5 or 6 block walk to USF campus. California and Presidio is a nice location, right at the foot of Pacific Heights (probably the most affluent neighborhood in SF). There are quite a few bus lines from downtown that converge nearby, so you could get a bus from Market St., where the downtown BART stations are located to the Laurel Inn fairly easily.

I'm sorry I don't know the rates however.

I forgot about the Laurel Inn (where my parents stayed once when visiting me when I lived on California and Laguna). But it's more than 5 or 6 blocks to USF -- more like 9-10, closer to a mile.

Sorry about that, but I'd hate to be walking what I think is going to be a half-mile and finding out it's a whole mile!

I was curious, so I looked up (and mapped out) on Google map the distance between Laurel Inn and the campus entrance of USF on Golden Gate Ave. It is 0.9 mile, and at least 10 blocks. Here's the Google Map I made:

Yes, but it's only 6 blocks from the hotel to the corner where the USF campus begins.
