Hotels for the 2002 Rose Bowl?

Hello,
My husband and I are planning/hoping to attend The Rose Bowl this year (go gators).
I have done a search of hotels in the area, most of the closer ones want full nonrefundable payment. Can anyone recommend accomodations and/or areas in and around Pasadena in which to stay? We have a flexable budget. Thanks.
A.M.

While very expensive, you can't beat the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena!

Hello XXX,
I found that the better hotels in Pasadena are already reserved. I was wondering about outlying areas, I really don't want to stay in L.A.
Thanks for the response,
A.M.

Yes, many of the Pasadena Hotels are booked long in advance and do have no cancelation policies. You might want to try Arcadia, Glendale, or other surrounding cities. During the Rose Bowl I have seen people staying all over Southern CA. When Michigan was in the Rose Bowl a couple years ago most of the fans were on the West Side of town and then were bussed over to Pasadena for the parade and game. If you do want to be near Pasadena tho, your best bets are Arcadia/Monrovia Area or Glendale Area. It is also a direct shot along the 134/210 Fwy from Burbank and Universal City. Good Luck!!
