Hotels Choices/Need Help
Hi All,
Though I've been to NYC many times I'd like some opinions. Going next weekend which seems VERY busy, does anyone know if something special happening? Going to see The Boy From Oz, and debating on where to stay.
Can't get the Westin Times Sq. but can get the Hilton Times Sq. Also can get Ritz Battery Park but don't know if its jazzy enough to stay so far away. Would like the hotel to be as top of the line as possible, good spa would be great.
Any ideas?? Also need hip, early thirties bar/dinner suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

I got the Times Square Hilton on Priceline and liked the hotel, but we got stuck (we were just there one night) in a handicapped room. The tub/shower was awful as it had a hand held job with NO water. I finally unscrewed the shower head on it and "squirted myself" with the small stream -- not unlike showering with a squirt gun. But so long as you have a regular room, I think you'd be fine.
One of my favorite new places in the area is Marseilles at the corner of 44th and 9th. Ate late dinners there twice which were wonderful, and stopped in the bar a number of times for preshow drinks. Love the place -- great atmosphere and quite "trendy" crowd.

So what kind of budget are we talking about? Top of the line can mean everything from the Peninsula to the Thompson Hotel. The Ritz Battery Park is very nice, though it is too far to walk to most attractions. You could stay at the SoHo Grand and then head on over to the Bliss Spa. As for thirties bar/dinner, the only thing I can think of is Chez Josephine's, which is on 42nd Street and owned by Josephine Baker's son. Piano music, great food, thirties decor.

I personally wouldn'ty stay at Battery Park for a weekend jaunt. There are so many good day spas, I'd pick a hotel you like & then go to a spa. The idea of Soho isn't a bad one though.
Look at the Library Hotel & the Benjamin.
For a rest/bar go to http://newyork.sheckys.com & doa search picking your location etc.
