Wanting to know of good reasonably priced hotel for 2 adults, probably near White House - or at least major attractions!! Any advice in White House tours and Arlington Cemetry also appreciated. August

What is your definition of reasonably priced? There are many hotels in DC that are well located. Also, the subway system is excellent if you're hotel is located nearby.

Contact your Senator or Congressperson for White House tour tickets. Those offices also can provide you with other tours such as a free Senate tour. We took the Metro to Arlington Cemetery and then took the Tourmobile tour there which I would recommend.

Have a great trip!

ARggh, should have reviewed my comment before posting. It is "your" not "you're!"

My mother, the English teacher, would be horrified!

We stayed at the Harrington hotel. Not the Hilton but only two blocks from the Mall and close to the White house in a nice safe neighbourhood. We also took the Old town trolley tour. You can get on/off all day and the driver is a great guide.Paul
