Hotel Pennsylvania
We are traveling to NYC for 4 nights at the end of March. We have a reservation at the Pennsylvania Hotel for 110.00 a night. I have tried and tried to find an independent review of this hotel but have been unsuccessful. Any information - location? amenities? rooms? restaurants? location???

It is not a very nice hotel but you have to take into accounts its excellent location. I stayed there last February and there was a Dog show on at MSG. All the dogs were running wild in the hotel. I personally love dogs but when it takes them a few days to clean up the "mess" that some dogs were leaving it got very annoying and smelly. Besides that the elevators were being repaired and my hot water didnt work. All that being said I'm going back there in 2 weeks again..i can put up with it all to save a few bucks and enjoy the location...

Liz-
We stayed there in Nov '00 and hated it. There is not one nice thing I can say about it- I didn't even think the location was that great. It was dirty, service was poor, the rooms smelled, and we very much regretted staying there.
Try quikbook.com. They have been having some great deals for hotels in NYC.

Marilyn, I can certainly appreciate the idea that your hotel reservations are made and you're on to planning other parts of your trip; but, please go to http://www.frommers.com/cgi-bin/[email protected]^[email protected]/3 it it the Frommers website and this address goes to comments from people who have stayed at the Hotel PA recently. Reservations can be changed, and you might want to think about doing this. Check quikbook.com or hotellocators.com or placestostay.com. or if you do the correct research at biddingfortravel.com you could bid on Priceline.com. Good luck! And don't be afraid to ask for hotel comments/suggestions here - everyone wants your experience to be enjoyable.
