Sorry Idsant. I haven't stayed there either but I did have dinner there. If the quality of the restaurant is indicative of the quality of the resort I wouldn't have any hesitation at all in staying there. It was our best meal on the island and we tried to hit most of the hot spots. My impression was that it was a lovely resort. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but I hope this is a little bit useful.

I stayed there when it was a brand new Ritz-Carlton.
The property is very nice. No real downsides except that it can be a big convention-type place at times which sometimes turns off 'private guests'. Beach is small and man made. Pool is nice.
The Orchid isn't quite up to the level of the Four Seasons or Mauna Lani but it's not far behind.
Bottom line: if you get a decent rate you'll probably be pleased.
