Most New Yorkers would recommend not staying in Times Square because it's always a teeming mass of humanity and chaos, however, I stayed one time at the Hilton Times Square and had a spectacular view of the Empire State Building.

Thank you all!...My budget? well, it'll be for one night only...so I guess I can pay..400/500...They told me about the W hotels being also fun with their bars, but I'm a little concerned for some "not great" review

The Ws do have great bars. We stayed at the W New York last year. A lot of people complain about that hotel, but we really enjoyed it. The room is quite small, but very well designed and perfectly fine for 2 people. We liked the location, and we thought the bar in the lobby was great. Alas, no view.

".Does the London NYC have a view of the Chrysler building at all?"
Probably not and if it did, you wouldn't also have a view of Central Park which I agree is the most amazing view in the city.
Doing a simple google search for nyc hotel with view of Chrysler building I found this posting about the W Court Hotel.

The Millenium UN Plaza would also have some views of the Chrysler building. http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationP....html#19540319 The Shelburne Murray Hill hotel has a rooftop bar with views of the top of both the Chrysler and the Empire state but not sure which if any of the rooms would have those views. The Affinia Dumont, part of the same chain as the Shelburne, has some rooms with views of the Empire STate building.
But in answer to your original question, some other ideas for hotel with amazing views that might fit the budget (depending on when you're visiting)
NY Palace hotel has some rooms that look onto St. Patrick's cathedral.
Trump International has some great park views as do the Essex House. The Parker Meridien has some nice views and a rooftop pool.
Downtown in the financial district, the Ritz Carlton Battery Park has some views of the Statue of Liberty. This can be very affordable on a weekend night.

thank you mclaurie, I checked the other hotels, and in fact they all seem to have something interesting...I did the same search and found those view froim the W Court, that's a WOW suite, but it seems harder than it should to check availability and price...I wrote to them and waiting for a reply...probably the Vista suit of the NYC London seems the best choice so far, and the views of the Park are amazing...
