Hotel for one night, going in and out of Vegas airport
I arrive at 9 pm at the Vegas airport and need a hotel to sleep quietly and comfortably til I meet up w/a friend and leave for a drive to Utah the next morning. I don't want a dumpy hotel, and I am hoping not to spend over about $120. I also want a free airport shuttle. Would prefer not to stay on the strip- I just want something nice and quiet, clean, not creepy.
Ideas?

I don't really want the noise, large lobby and walking through the casino, and just having to deal w/the strip for a stay of less than 12 hrs. This is the beginning of a hiking/spa trip and I don't want any madness, crowds, etc. the 1st night.
I did look into the strip and just off strip (this is for the night of Oct. 6) and saw Stratosphere for $120 and Orleans for same price but Stratosphere has "noisy" reviews. Orleans gets mixed reviews but might be ok as at least reviews say the rooms are quiet.
I'd prefer to just shuttle a very short distance, get out and walk to small lobby of hotel without casino, sleep quietly for 8 hrs in a clean and non-funky rm., and leave.
I looked at Knights Inn right by the airport w/shuttle but it looks too funky. Is there somewhere else like this where the rm. is better?

Tnaks starrs. I just found that one too but there are no rooms available for night of OCt 6 on their website.
Amerisuites might fit the bill, but it is $154 w/AAA discount. A bit more than I wanted to pay but it might be the one as they have availablity.

Hey, emd. I didn't even notice it was you!
It is not the Muse by ANY stretch of the imagination , but it is exactly what you described. I like LQ's free breakfast - especially the make your own waffles. Some LQ's even have bacon to zap in the microwave. I've had a waffle, egg (hardboiled, sometimes scrambled) bacon and juice breakfasts at LQ - all for free!
Did you check the AAA rate? Every little bit helps.

Oh, just read your other post. The $107 is probably the AAA rate. Great! (The random dates I checked had a room for under $100 so wondered if you had entered checked the AAA button)
Happy travels! Enjoy UTAH!
PS - Try the prickly pear vodka you can buy out there. Makes wonderful cosmos!

There are a few La Quinta's around Vegas now, make sure you got the one on Paradise Road.
Knights Inn and everything around it is indeed funky. Residence Inn on Hughes parkway sometimes has good Entertainment Card rates. Tuscany Suites is a casino hotel but you don't walk through the casino to get to the rooms, it is set up like an apt. complex so the rooms are in different complexes. Quick ride to the strip but I don't know if they have shuttle.

I have an Entertainment card so will look at Residence Inn. La Quinta airport location gets mixed reviews (and some pretty bad ones) on tripadvisor. Amerisuites is more but it gets much better reviews and it sounds like the airport shuttle is much more reliable.
Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

If you arrive at 9pm and are concerneda about the reliability of the hotel shuttle, I'd just cab it to the hotel.
The Tuscany gets great reviews and I've put on it my LV list as well. Check it out. The cab fare can't be too high (my guess only)
The date I checked has rooms at $109. Again, GREAT reviews. Just off the strip if you want to take a morning stroll before your friend picks you up.
