Las Vegas Hotel near Airport
Can anyone reccommend a cheap hotel near the airport? We have to get up at 5am to catch a flight to Mexico so on our last night in Vegas we want to stay in as cheap a place as possible..
Many Thanks

The Las Vegas Strip isn't very far from the airport at all. There are a couple of Motel 6s on Tropicana that you could check, but depending on the date, you might find you can do even better with casino hotel like the San Remo or the Tropicana. Both are on the outbound side of Tropicana Avenue and have been known to offer very low rates if it so happens that they're not too heavily booked. But really, you could probably check much more of strip for deals without having too much time tied up in getting to the airport.

The major hotels are practically as close to the airport as some of the so called cheaper ones. Depending on the day of the week Luxor (within sight of the a/p) may be offering better rates then Motel6. At the time of morning you will be going to the airport (between 5 and 6 a.m. I assume) you will not encounter any traffic.
You say your last night in 'Vegas which indicates you will be there a few days - I'd just stay where you already are, traffic will not be a problem in the morning and it is more of a nuisance to check out/in of places.

5 AM is about the only time of day that there is NO traffic in Las Vegas. I agree with others. I think it's amazing that a tacky Motel 6 can cost more than a Luxor -- but it is apparently true. Why? The Motel 6 doesn't have a casino to make money on.
