Honolulu Airport Hotel

Has anyone recently stayed in this hotel. Is it a good choice. We are arriving late and have an early flight to Maui and need a place to get a few hours sleep.

Any comments/recommendations would be appreciated.

I have heard that the Best Western is a better choice, though I haven't actually stayed there yet. (will be there next month, same situation as yours) Wherever you stay, please post feedback upon your return! Have fun!

Too bad you couldn't get an early connecting flight to Maui. Just be aware that hotels in the airport area are very, very depressing. Aside from the piped-in Hawaiian music, there's very little to hint that you've arrived in paradise. But then, it'll be late at night and an early morning flight out to Maui....

If anyone has any comments on the BEST WESTERN near the airport, please add them. I know these hotels aren't paradise ... but we'll likely be getting to the HOTEL at midnight and have a flight out at 7am.

We stayed at the Best Western last year. It's very comfortable, reasonably priced, and has a frequent shuttle bus to the airport terminal. I'd definitely stay there again - it's clearly not a vacation spot, but then that's not what you need it for. We were in much the same situation, i.e. arrived late and left early, so it suited us perfectly.

If I recall correctly, the BW and the Honolulu Airport Hotel are owned by the same people. Also the Honolulu Airport Hotel used to be a Holiday Inn.
