Honolulu accommodation
Hi fellow travelers any ideas for economic accommodation for a big family group, need 7 units, as close to wakiki beach as possible. ..also a unit for 7 days in maui. First visit, any suggestions?

There are numerous hotels right on Waikiki beach, across the street from the beach , a few blocks from the beach.....
I am sure you can rent seven rooms at any of them.
If you have a specific budget in mind, we can recommend accordingly if you tell us what it is.

im just researching the same
Husband found a group of condos in the waikiki beach walk area
the wyndham group on the vrbo site//good reviews,,,central location which is important to us
im waiting on replies but the rates for a two bedroom two bathroom place seem a lot cheaper than the room rates at the beachcomber hotel which we originally planned to book
seems there is a hefty surcharge for having four adults in a room so it is expensive even if we do squish us and the grow n children in with us
condos are the way to go it seems in hawaii
i have been told to stay away from the canal area...seedy apparently and the end where the zoo is is indeed quieter but not too much in the way of restaurants
personally i want to be closer to the action so was looking round the outrigger waikiki on the beach area...the beachcomber came highly recommended but is still pricey compared to the condos ( down near the embassy suites area)

The zoo end of Waikiki has PLENTY of restaurants, so that is no reason to avoid it. One plus of that area is the beachfront park....so the beach is not fronted with highrise hotels and has a much more open feel.
