Honeymoon in October - places to stay in Maui

I will be in Maui for my Honeymoon in October (8 nights)and am stressing about where to stay. I am considering the Grand Wialea, Fairmont, Hyatt or Westin. I've heard the food at the Wialea is not good and there are a ton of kids. But people have told me that in October kids won't be as big of a worry. I'd appreciate any advice for two newlyweds that want SOME alone time, but also want to get out have things to do nearby.

M husband and I stayed at the Kea Lani while in Maui on our honeymoon and really like it. The rooms are all suites and quite spacious with spacious balconies. We were very pleased with our stay there. The food in the restaurants was very good.

My husband and I were in Maui in November 04 and stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea. Whatever you heard about the food being bad is just NOT TRUE. Nick's Fishmarket is one of the best, if not THE best, restaurant on Maui! Also the Cafe Caio is awesome as well. As for kids, when we went there were some, but they have a kids pool which is seperate from the adult pool so that wasn't a problem. The rooms are all suites and gorgeous, the serviec was great, it's close to the shops at Wailea and the Tommy Bahama Cafe (which was wonderful). I'd also suggest going to Humu Humu (restaurant in the Grand Wailea) and Spago (at the Four Seasons) which are both just a couple doors down from the Kea Lani. The Four Seasons and Grand Wailea just seemed to HUGE to me; the Kea Lani isn't tiny but IS smaller than the Grand and Four Seasons and therefore, to me, didn't seem so massive that you'd get lost in a sea of people. We liked it so much we're going back this November in '06.

If you can afford any of these high-priced hotels, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with any of them, as far as the property, room, service, food, etc.
Yes, there's generally lots of kids at the Grand Wailea because they probably have the best pools. But they also have an adult-only pool where you can avoid the kids. But I would think Oct. would be less kids compared to the summer time.

We stayed at the Kea Lani for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. To date, Nick's Fishmarket is the single best dinning Exerience/Meal that me and my wife have ever had! The Kea Lani is the way to go.
