Honeymoon in October
Where would be an ideal place for a honeymoon in the later part of October/beginning part of November? We are definitely looking for some R&R, but need some other activities besides sitting by a pool and eating.

We just did a Mediterranean cruise on Windstar cruise lines from mid to the end of October. The ship was beautiful, the food and ports were great. I couldn't think of a better honeymoon for the money. We did two week long, back to back cruises. Cost under $ 10,000 and included meals, not drinks.

We are planning on going between 7-14 days. We definitely want to go somewhere for some R&R, but we need fun and active festivities to divvy up our time. Originally, we thought that we would go to a big city in Europe, but realized we did not want to feel obligated to be out and about every day doing touristy type things. We definitely want to be wined and dined too.

It sounds like the California wine country might be good for you. You can check yourself into a cozy, luxurious bed & breakfast and take all the R&R you need, combined with visits to local wineries, art galleries, fabulous restaurants, etc. You can even throw in a few days in San Francisco if you want to.
If you do want to consider Europe still, I would highly recommend doing what we did for our honeymoon- renting an apartment or villa in Tuscany. It was heavenly! The perfect atmosphere for us. Having our own place allowed us to relax without pressure, and the pace of Tuscan life is so conducive to that.
