Honeymoon ideas!

I need some ideas for a friends honeymoon! She is getting married in two weeks and they were originally scheduled to go on a cruise to Bermuda for their honeymoon. However, with everything that's going on they would rather stay close to home (NY). Anyone have any semi-cheap honeymoon ideas in or around NY? B&Bs? Thanks!

How about one of the resorts in the Poconos? I hear the Ceasar's Palace resort is wonderful and very romantic. Some of the resorts such as Summit and Mount Airy are a little rundown (70s decor) but The 3 owned by Ceasar's are all either new or refurbished when Ceasar's bout them about 5 years ago. Fall is a great time to go as the foliage is beautiful in the mountains. They have great packages either for an entoire weeek or 3n/4ds and within driving distance.

Forgot to mention, for those of you who are laughing at the Poconos or are skeptics got to www.desires.com/2.2/travel/Poconos/poconos.html THis is a good trip report from a similarly skeptical traveler.

I suggest New Hope, Pennsylvania in Bucks County...there are numerous romantic b&b's, cozy restaurants, and quaint shops...Peddler's Village in nearby Lahaska also has a very nice inn...you can also take a train ride, ride on a mule drawn barge and catch a "Broadway" show at the Bucks County Playhouse...there's lots of sites on the internet...

What about Maine, Nantucket or the Vineyard. Nantucket is named "the Bermuda of the North" and is every bit as beautiful. The Summerhouse, The Wauwinet, or The Breakers would all be great spots for a honeymoon.

Thanks for all the ideas! She has been thinking about Nantucket. Any lodging suggestions? Thanks, again.
