Hi there! We were in Maui last year and can't wait to go back. A really cool activity is the bike ride (at dawn) down Haleakala volcano. It's 33,000 feet up and to see the sunrise is unbelievable. There's also Tedeschi winery up there, which is worth a stop. In Lahaina, we enjoyed going to Kimo's to watch the sunset - very casual, but we loved it. Also, a helicopter trip through the valleys behind Lahaina is apparently supposed to be incredible. Unfortunately we ran out of time. Congratulations and have a great trip!

Oh, forgot to mention that you MUST make the drive to Hana - it truly is "heavenly" and stop at Mama's Fish House on the way back - we thought it was going to be a tourist trap but we absolutely fell in love with it - right on the water - so lovely!!!

Jen,
Just feel like I have to correct you on the height of Haleakala. Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world is only 29,035 feet.
I think Haleakala is only about 10,000 feet.
I do agree the sunrise is awesome...but quite, quite cold...even at this 'moderate' height!

Skip the luaus - the food is awful. Definitely take the drive to Hana.
Restuarants: Swan Court at Hyatt Regency, Plantation at Plantation Estates, Roy's near Kapalua and enjoyed Sushi at Kobe in Lahaina.
